He pursued Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Geography, English, Kiswahili, Civics, and History. He continued to develop his scientific knowledge and analytical skills, focusing on Physics, Geography, and Advanced Mathematics at the advanced level. He then obtained a BSc in Geomatics from the University of Dar es Salaam, at the then University College of Lands and Architectural Studies (UCLAS), Tanzania. His undergraduate studies encompassed a wide range of subjects including Engineering Surveys, Geodesy, Cartography, Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing, Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), and Basics in Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

Dr. Ijumulana started his professional career as a Tutorial Assistant at the University of Dar es Salaam from 2006 to 2010. During this time, he was involved in teaching undergraduate students across various engineering and technological disciplines. From 2010 to 2022, he served as an Assistant Lecturer, further enhancing his teaching repertoire and engaging more deeply in research activities. In 2022, Dr. Ijumulana was appointed as a Lecturer at the University of Dar es Salaam. In 2020, he became a Lecturer in Entomology at the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, and was later promoted to Assistant Professor.
