He excelled in his early studies, securing first divisions in both his SSC (1982) and HSC (1984) under the Dhaka Board. He completed his Bachelor’s in Agricultural Engineering (Honors) at Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) in 1988, ranking fifth in his class with first-class honors. Pursuing advanced education, he earned his MSc in Agricultural Engineering from BAU in 1990 and furthered his expertise with an M.Eng. Sci. from The University of Melbourne in 2000, specializing in Civil and Environmental Engineering. His academic pinnacle was achieved with a Ph.D. in Irrigation and Water Management from BAU in 2008, followed by a prestigious Postdoctoral Fellowship at Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2011.
