Prof. Saeed Gholizadeh began his academic journey at Urmia University, where he earned a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering in 2000. He continued his education at the University of Kerman, obtaining an M.Sc. in Structural Engineering in 2002. His master's thesis focused on the optimal design of structures using genetic algorithms and neural networks, under the supervision of Prof. Eysa Salajegheh. Prof. Gholizadeh pursued a Ph.D. in Structural Engineering at the same institution, completing his doctorate in 2009 with a dissertation on the optimum seismic design of structures using advanced artificial intelligence methods, again under the guidance of Prof. Eysa Salajegheh.

Prof. Gholizadeh's academic career at Urmia University began in 2009 as an Assistant Professor in Structural Engineering. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 2013 and became a full Professor in 2020. He also served as a visiting professor at Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey, from 2021 to 2022, where he collaborated with Prof. Oğuzhan Hasançebi on a project related to the seismic total cost optimization of steel structures.
