He then pursued an M.Sc. in Chemistry with a specialization in Physical Chemistry from Gauhati University, Assam, in 2004. His academic pursuits culminated with a Ph.D. in Chemical Sciences from Tezpur University, Assam, in 2011, under the supervision of Prof. S. K. Dolui. His doctoral thesis was titled “Development of Core-shell Latex Particles by Emulsion Polymerization.”

Dr. Borthakur's professional career began as a Junior Research Fellow at the Department of Chemical Sciences, Tezpur University, from August 2005 to September 2007. Since September 2007, he has been serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Nowgong College, Assam. Over his 14+ years of teaching, he has been dedicated to imparting knowledge in Physical Chemistry and Spectroscopy to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
