🎓 Early Academic Pursuits

Dr. Kaan Koçali began his academic journey with a Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering from Istanbul University in 2011. His intellectual curiosity led him to pursue two Master’s degrees: one in Mining Engineering (with thesis) at Istanbul University (2016), focusing on the effects of boron compounds on solar panels, and another in Occupational Health and Safety at Istanbul Aydın University (non-thesis, 2016). He crowned his academic formation with a Ph.D. in Occupational Health and Safety at Istanbul Aydın University in 2021. His doctoral thesis addressed the legal responsibilities of permanent supervisors in mines under Turkish law and proposed a software-based tracking and control system.

💼 Professional Endeavors

Dr. Koçali currently serves as an Assistant Professor at Istanbul Gelişim University, where he leads the Occupational Health and Safety Program in the Department of Property Protection and Security. He has participated in Erasmus+ staff mobility programs in Germany and North Macedonia, further expanding his international academic network. Beyond academia, he has held roles as a Mining Engineer, Occupational Safety Specialist, entrepreneur, and legal expert, offering consultancy, safety training, legal evaluations, and engineering services across various sectors. His company experience includes managing R&D projects, developing software for mining project management, and supporting startups through national grant programs.
