She began her educational journey with a Bachelor of Science in Physics at Shrimati Indira Gandhi College, Trichy, achieving a commendable 70% from 2007 to 2010. Her passion for the subject propelled her to continue her studies at the same institution, where she completed her Master of Science in Physics with an impressive 76.8% from 2010 to 2012. Dr. Dhanalakshmi further advanced her expertise by obtaining a Master of Philosophy in Physics from Seethalakshmi Ramaswami College, Trichy, in 2013, with a score of 75.5%. Her academic endeavors culminated in a Doctor of Philosophy in Physics from Seethalakshmi Ramaswami College, where she earned her PhD with high commendation from 2017 to 2021.

She began as a UGC Major Project Assistant at the PG & Research Department of Physics, Seethalakshmi Ramaswami College, from 2013 to 2017. In 2021, she transitioned to the role of Lecturer in the same department, where she served until 2023. Concurrently, she took on the role of Assistant Warden at the Padmabhushan Sri N. Ramaswami Ayyar Educational Complex Hostel, a position she held from 2013 to 2023. She then pursued a B.Sc. in Physics from Ravenshaw University, Cuttack, Odisha, and graduated in 2015 with 86.27%. Her dedication to her studies continued at Utkal University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha, where she earned an M.Sc. in Physics with an impressive 92.05% in 2017.
