Dr. Lakhya Jyoti Borthakur's academic journey began with a B.Sc. in Chemistry from B. Borooah College, Guwahati, Assam, affiliated with Gauhati University, completed in 2002. He then pursued an M.Sc. in Chemistry with a specialization in Physical Chemistry from Gauhati University, Assam, in 2004. His academic pursuits culminated with a Ph.D. in Chemical Sciences from Tezpur University, Assam, in 2011, under the supervision of Prof. S. K. Dolui. His doctoral thesis was titled “Development of Core-shell Latex Particles by Emulsion Polymerization.”

Professional Endeavors

Dr. Borthakur's professional career began as a Junior Research Fellow at the Department of Chemical Sciences, Tezpur University, from August 2005 to September 2007. Since September 2007, he has been serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Nowgong College, Assam. Over his 14+ years of teaching, he has been dedicated to imparting knowledge in Physical Chemistry and Spectroscopy to undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Contributions and Research Focus

Dr. Borthakur has supervised 20 M.Sc. dissertations and is currently guiding 4 Ph.D. students. He has co-authored three books and supervised three research projects. His research is prominently published in 21 peer-reviewed international journals with significant impact factors. His work primarily focuses on:

* Development of core-shell latex particles by emulsion polymerization.

* Photocatalytic materials for environmental applications.

* Nanocomposites for energy storage devices.
