He completed his secondary education at Maguri Jagannath Chalk High School in 2005, securing 65.125%. His academic excellence continued at Panskura B.B. High School, where he achieved 66.8% in his higher secondary education in 2008. Driven by a passion for sports and physical education, he pursued a B.A. from Pingla Thana Mahaviyalaya, Vidyasagar University, in 2012. His journey into the field of physical education began in earnest with a B.P.Ed. from the Post Graduate Govt. Institute of Physical Education, Banipur, followed by an M.P.Ed. from Jadavpur University, where he secured 63.75% in 2017. His academic rigor culminated in an M.Phil. in Sports Science from Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute, where he is currently pursuing a Ph.D.

Mr. Bhunia has been serving as a Physical Instructor at the Bengal Football Academy, under the Department of Youth Services and Sports, Government of West Bengal, since December 2018.
